ALABASTER COAST, ABBEYS, CASTLES, SEINE VALLEY... UP TO YOU !

The abbey of Bec-Hellouin and the castle of Champ de Bataille

The renown of the village of Bec-Hellouin is not only due to his election as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Its history began in 1035, thanks to a knight of the count of Brionne, named, at the time, Herluin, who will make out of nowhere what you will visit.

The Castle of Battlefield will be rescued from 1992 by a certain Jacques Garcia, interior designer who has created for others the indoor atmosphere of the greatest palaces around the world. He devotes his talent to the rehabilitation of one of the greatest castles of the seventeenth century. Change of scenery guaranteed.

Castles in Normandy (Calvados & Eure) and Basilica

We will begin the tour by Pont l'Evêque, city of Calvados with its half-timbered houses of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, its mansions of the same period but also known by cheese lovers, with its eponymous product.

The castles of Crevecoeur-en-Auge and Beaumesnil-en-Ouche are two Norman nuggets, each in their own style.

The Sainte-Thérèse Basilica in Lisieux pays tribute to a great name in Catholic (French) history.

The alabaster coast in all its facets

The Alabaster Coast owes its name to the 140 km of chalky cliffs between the Estuary of the Seine and that of the Somme. It is in Etretat that these cliffs are the most picturesque: they surprise the visitor by their cutting and confront him with a wild beauty and a little austere.

The Seine valley between Le Havre and Rouen

This discovery tour begins in Le Havre and takes the direction of the Seine Valley, via the right bank. We will pass under the bridge of Tancarville and in front of the castle of Etelan, to go to the abbey of Saint-Wandrille-Rançon, near Caudebec-en-Caux and the Brotonne bridge.

We will then go to Jumieges, abbey to the history not less rich but which did not have the chance to reach us in the same state. This abbey has not escaped the sad consequences for our national heritage of the French Revolution.

The lunch break will be in Jumièges for shared vehicle bookings.

We will then go to the Roman Abbey of Saint-Martin de Boscherville.

By shared vehicle, the return on Le Havre will be by the right bank, the shortest towards Le Havre, to be back at the pier for the Cruisers.

In the absence of cruise passengers on board the shared vehicle, the return on the left bank does not pose a problem. Same for private vehicle, if you are not Cruise passengers bound by a departure time, we will return to Le Havre via the left bank.
